Pain Management
Robertson Vet Clinic’s approach to helping clients recognize, prevent and treat pain in their pets is one that is taken very seriously. Pain can be a debilitating disease, and because of such we are dedicated to utilizing pharmacological and non-pharmacological methodologies in order to achieve pain management for pets at any life stage. Many times a multimodal pain management plan is needed, especially when treating geriatric pets that may have multiple disease processes occurring. Whether an acute injury or a chronic medical condition, pain management is individualized to meet the needs of each pet.
Some of the options available to clients for pain management include anti-inflammatory
medication, nerve pain medication, laser therapy, PSGAG supplementation (Adequan), joint supplements (omegas/fish oils, glucosamine/chondroitin), monoclonal antibody therapy (Solensia, Librela), muscle relaxers and so much more. Each pain management plan is put into place based on the individual pet’s needs and pain level.
