At Robertson Vet Clinic, we recommend beginning dental care as early as age 2 to ensure the best oral health for your pet. We offer complete dental cleanings that include full mouth dental radiographs (x-rays), ultrasonic scaling, dental polishing, and a thorough oral examination with dental charting. All dental cleanings require general anesthesia, and it is essential that preoperative blood work is conducted to ensure your pet’s major organ function is healthy enough to filter and safely undergo anesthesia.
Since most pets begin to show signs of dental disease by the age of 3, timely routine dental care is crucial. Most dental issues start below the gumline, where they cannot be seen with the naked eye, making early intervention important in maintaining your pet’s overall health.
