Mobile Services
Robertson Mobile Vet offers not only in clinic services, but also mobile, in home preventive care services. Our mobile services are available only on certain days a week and are available for routine preventive care services such as annual vaccinations, annual intestinal parasite checks, annual blood work and consultations. We have a limited travel radius, so please contact us to see if you are located within the area we travel within Alachua County. Please also note that we do not offer emergency mobile services, animal transport services or same day mobile appointments. Please contact us via phone (352-373-6203) or request an appointment through our website to verify that your house is within our travel radius, as well as see when our next available mobile appointment is on the calendar.
Behavior Management
We offer solutions for a variety of behavioral issues that pet owners face.
There are many behaviors that can be negative or destructive, and many pet owners feel helpless in bringing peace to their home. We want you to know that we are here to help, and that undesirable behaviors can be corrected. So whether you are dealing with timidity, inappropriate elimination (such as urinating inside the house or outside of the litter box), or a decline in cognition behavioral problems, give us a call to schedule your consultation today. There are many options available, including but not limited to training, supplementation and pharmacological treatments.
Dental Care
At Robertson Mobile Vet, we offer complete dental cleanings that include full mouth dental radiographs (x-rays), ultrasonic scaling, dental polishing and complete oral examination including dental charting. All dental cleanings require general anesthesia, and all pets undergoing general anesthesia must have preoperative blood work completed in order to make sure that they are metabolically sound for the procedure.
Since most pets have some dental disease starting by the time they are 3 years of age, it is important that routine dental care be completed in a timely manner, especially since most dental disease starts below the gumline where you can not see it with the naked eye.
Geriatric Care
Preventative medicine is important when our pets are young, but as our pets age, and become prone to certain disease processes, annual exams and blood work becomes even more critical.
Annual exams and blood work to check liver and kidney values, along with thyroid function have the potential to alert us to early changes that may give us valuable information about your pet’s health. We understand the changes your pet will have as they become older- increased lethargy, mobility issues, dietary restrictions/changes and cognitive decline. We also know the importance of keeping your pet healthy as they enter their golden years, and can help you navigate this along the way.
Please call us today at (352) 373-6203 to learn more about caring for your senior pet.
Health Certificates
If you want to travel internationally with your pet, you need to plan ahead. Since each country is different, there are various tests, paperwork and other requirements that may needed prior to your plans to board a plane or boat.
Although every country has different requirements, most will require a health certificate that is done by a USDA-accredited veterinarian. Luckily, we have a USDA-accredited veterinarian that can complete the proper paperwork needed. If you are traveling and not an existing client, you will need to make sure you bring your pets’ records in with you to the examination or have them sent ahead of time so that they can be reviewed prior (this is to make sure you aren’t missing anything).
Laser Therapy
We are proud to announce we do offer laser therapy, an innovative new way to treat pain and inflammation in pets. Laser therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to create therapeutic effects such as improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling. Multiple studies have shown laser therapy can help with a variety of problems including arthritis, joint pain, ligament sprains, muscle strains, dog/cat bites, feline acne/asthma, hotspots, post trauma/surgery pain, hip dysplasia, lick granulomas and snake/bug bites.
If you are interested in laser therapy for your pet, please contact us today at 352-373-6203. Please note that all laser therapy sessions are completed in the clinic.
Onsite Diagnostics
At Robertson Mobile Vet, we can do most diagnostics in-house. From routine blood work to radiographs (x-ray) we offer an array of in-house services. For more specialized diagnostics, we use reliable reference laboratories as well as have board certified specialists that come into the practice in order to offer abdominal ultrasounds and echocardiograms.
Microchipping
At Robertson Mobile Vet, we are happy to offer microchipping. Every year, thousands of pets go missing. Not knowing where your pet is or how to bring them back can be a helpless, hopeless feeling. It’s a tragedy that happens all too often.
But there is a simple, safe, and effective way to ensure your pet’s safety and retrieval should he or she ever become lost. Microchipping is a standard procedure that implants a tiny chip underneath your pet’s fur. It is a fast and safe procedure.
If your pet has been microchipped, please make sure to register them with the appropriate company so that you are contacted if your pet gets lost. If you are not certain which company to contact to register your pets microchip, you can look it up in the below microchip look up: https://www.aaha.org/for-veterinary-professionals/microchip-search/
Consultations
Over the years, there has been an increase in the need for consultation appointments to discuss with clients their concerns about their pets, whether it’s their behavior, changes as they have aged, weight gain/loss or second opinions. Consultation appointments are available to discuss concerns, options and next steps needed for whatever stage of life your pet is in. These are 15 minute slots that can be scheduled with the client service coordinator, and put onto the veterinarians schedule. These consultations can be completed in person (for all new clients and patients), or over the phone (for existing clients and patients with an up to date veterinary-client-patient relationship).
Parasite Prevention
Flea/Tick and Heartworm Prevention – No one likes to see fleas or ticks on their pet. Fleas and ticks can transmit diseases and we want to avoid that by assisting you through proper prevention. Mosquitos can also transmit a deadly, and unseen disease to your pet; heartworms. There are topical products, oral solutions, and injectable options for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, so call us today at (352) 373-6203 for us to help you determine which options are best.
Pain Management
Robertson Mobile Vet’s approach to helping clients recognize, prevent and treat pain in their pets is one that is taken very seriously. Pain can be a debilitating disease, and because of such we are dedicated to utilizing pharmacological and non-pharmacological methodologies in order to achieve pain management for pets at any life stage. Many times a multimodal pain management plan is needed, especially when treating geriatric pets that may have multiple disease processes occurring. Whether an acute injury or a chronic medical condition, pain management is individualized to meet the needs of each pet.
Some of the options available to clients for pain management include anti-inflammatory
medication, nerve pain medication, laser therapy, PSGAG supplementation (Adequan), joint supplements (omegas/fish oils, glucosamine/chondroitin), monoclonal antibody therapy (Solensia, Librela), muscle relaxers and so much more. Each pain management plan is put into place based on the individual pet’s needs and pain level.
Pharmacy
Being mobile as well as having an office, Robertson Mobile Vet knows that everyone’s life is busy. In order to make it convenient for clients to have access to their pets medications we offer an online pharmacy (VetSource) so you can have your pets medications, prescription diets, and supplements delivered straight to your home.
Preventative Care
We believe the best way to promote overall health is through preventative care. Regular checkups allow us to establish a baseline in your pets’ health and make us aware of any changes that may indicate future problems. Annual vaccinations are also recommended, however our recommendations are based on each pet’s lifestyle and exposure risk. Please note, that all pet’s seen within our clinic must be up to date on their rabies vaccinations as required by law.
We highly recommend bringing your pet in for regular exams, whether annually for a young pet (less than 7 years old), or bi-annually for older pets (over 7 years old). Often health problems that are not caught early can become more severe issues when left untreated, so checkups are important even when your pet appears healthy for a greater chance of early detection.
As your pet ages, there are other items we recommend beyond just an exam and routine vaccinations:
Dogs (>7 years of age)- annual geriatric blood work, including a urinalysis. As dogs age, they can be prone to developing osteoarthritis which can cause pain, requiring pain management options based on the pet’s severity and lifestyle. But not all limping is due to joint disease. Some dogs can develop bone cancers that, in their early stages, can mimic osteoarthritic pain. In these instances, x-rays (or radiographs) would be recommended in order to properly diagnose. Older dogs are also prone to develop certain metabolic disorders that can be detected early with routine lab work.
Cats (>7 years of age)- annual geriatric blood work, including a urinalysis. Cats are very stoic animals and many times can have mild disease that goes undetected. Many cats as they age will develop a decrease in their kidney’s function, and early detection can help slow down the degenerative nature of their disease. Older cats are also more prone to diseases such as hypertension (high blood pressure) and hyperthyroidism (typically due to an over productive thyroid gland), so blood pressure and thyroid level checks are also recommended in aging feline patients.
Surgery
We are pleased to offer our clients the highest quality veterinary care. We want nothing but the best for our patients, especially during surgery. It is our goal to make sure that our surgical team is prepared to offer our clients the latest medical procedures. We look forward to learning about the newest medical advances in surgery and actively partake in continued surgical education.

Wellness Exams
At Robertson Mobile Vet, we believe that routine preventive and wellness care are essential to maintaining the health of every pet. From a young puppy or kitten receiving the proper vaccinations, to a geriatric pet having routine exams and geriatric blood work; we strive to maintain healthy animals in order to continue the human-animal bond.
Vaccinations – Proper vaccination administration is important to the health of every pet. Dependent upon their life stage and environmental risks, each pet has a different requirement for vaccines that we assist in helping you determine.
Deworming – It is important to treat your pet for parasitic infections to maintain a healthy pet. Parasites can be found inside the body of pets and well as on the outside. They can be found either in the intestines, blood or on the skin of the body. Deworming can be done either by tablets, syrup, transdermal (topical) or injection.
Hospice and Palliative Care
As our pets age, there comes a time when their comfort and quality of life has to be determined. By offering multiple options for palliative care, we can help in this difficult time of all pet owners lives.

Over the years, the Robertson Mobile Vet staff has expanded its medical care to include non-traditional animals. We understand that finding an exotic vet is challenging, so we are proud to offer services to our scaled, furred and feathered companions. We routinely see small pocket pets, including rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets; as well as non-venemous reptiles, such as various snake and lizard species. We are also proud to serve those clients with farm-associated avian species- chickens, ducks, geese, turkey, guinea fowl and peafowl.
Please note that with the avian species we do take biosecurity very important, so there are rare instances in which we will not see an animal in clinic, but rather will refer it. All calls for appointments for avian species will have to answer respiratory questions prior to being scheduled.
